Winter in the city

Melbourne has lots of different suburbs, and I live in Kew. Its a very nice area of Melbourne and it only takes about 10-15 min on the train or tram to get into the Melbourne city! Perfect!! A couple of the photos are from one of the parks in Kew, and one from the main street. This is how winter is like in Melbourne, the southern part of Australia.

Doesn't it look like it is a bit cold here??! It really is..a lot colder than i thought it would be..
Palms in park!!! Green all year around!

Dogs in tha house! Little Bailey, Sally and Cody running crazy around the house.. haha!!

I spent last saturday night out with some swedish friends. Good fun!!
Jacqui and me walk up to the Queen Victoria Market.. lots of things (fake) and food (excellent)!

UGG's! So soft!
Looking for a new style? Wig it!

I am definitely in Australia!
We spotted a Vampire theatre on our walk towards Brunswick street

Carlton Gardens in the background
In Australia they put plastic on the lower part of the trees to protect them from possums (animal) climbing up eating the leaves

I found it quite interesting that they have a horse and dog hospital in the middle of Melbourne

Why not have a little rest, while observing the city life?

Laneways in Melbourne

Today I met up with Camilla, Moe, Joakim and Christine to explore more of Melbourne city. We decided to take a closer look at some of the small laneways that you find across the streets of the city centre. We walked to a couple of them..  a lot more left to see! Of course, the battery in my camera died... but i luckely i got some photos.

Most of the photos show "the art of city". . which is Melbourne's street art/grafitti art. The last two are from the State library of Victoria, where they have an exhibiton of Ned Kelly for free! There are also some art at the second floor. If you're not into art or Ned Kelly, the building itself is still worth a visit.

Great Ocean Road !!!

As a welcome trip offered by Deakin University for all exchange students, we went for a two hour bus ride to Great ocean road south-west of Melbourne. It is a reason for the name Great ocean road.. The road which take you along the coast is.. guess once... its GREAT!!

The 12 apostles are the stone formations in the sea.. because of weather and waves its not 12 of them any more, but still so beautiful!
The weather this day was the worst Ive seen so far! Raining and windy.. got one quick photo with 12 apostles in the back

As you can see.. its quite a storm out there! Still, it was charming to see the nature forces in this beautifu scenery
A 15min walk in the Maits Rainforest.. a minty smell of the ecalyptus trees, very green and lots of small palmy bushes/trees

"Hi there!" Look who's shy and hiding? Cute koala!!
Locals having fun! HAHA!

Mountain biking... in 5km/h.. on a strait walking track! Fun for a pro like me! hehe
Couldnt say no to a two hour surfin lessons by the local surfing hunks.. even though it was only 8-10 degrees out this day. It definitely isnt as warm as it looks like.. brrr. BUT...incredelibly FUN! My first surf experience ever, and for sure not the last!
